Noune has spent her entire adult life as a
music educator and performer. A graduate of Komitas Conservatory in
Armenia she has also studied child psychology at the Pedagogical
Institute in Armenia.
With her abilities to entertain her young
audience and create such excellent and popular material, it's really of
no surprise to learn that Noune Karapetian is a qualified pre-school
music teacher. She specializes in early childhood classes and it is her
experience with young students that has provided the foundation for her
first recording of Armenian children's songs called "Tsapik, Tsapik".
Ms.
Karapetian was born in Armenia. A cum laude graduate of Komitas
Conservatory (voice) in Yerevan, she came to the United States to
continue her musical studies. Since then she has appeared frequently in
various concerts venues and operas and also was a winner or finalist in a
number of major competitions including the Metropolitan Opera National
Council Auditions (for Noune's classical work please go to
www.NouneKarapetian.com).
Noune started writing music when she was 14.
She was also a recipient of Armenian National high school students
competition awards for her short stories. "After I started my vocal
studies at the Yerevan Conservatory I stopped composing, I was too busy.
When I decided to do this project for my children and all Armenian
children, I was delighted to go back to writing and composing, I had a
great time doing it. Now I can't wait to make more songs".
